Refrigerant Leak Detection Expert SAMON Opens New US Office

SAMON is delighted to announce the opening of a new office in the United States. With over 30 years of experience in manufacturing refrigerant gas detectors, SAMON is expanding its presence in the US to support the growing demands of its North American customers.

Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the new SAMON US office will provide sales consultancy and marketing support to customers and distributors. The US operation will be headed by Carey Hollman, VP of Sales & Marketing US. Carey has over 20 years of experience in gas detection across various applications, including refrigeration, HVAC, and petrochemical markets.

Refrigerant leaks are harmful to the environment, dangerous to people through asphyxiation or explosion, and cause refrigerating system failures. SAMON is focused on providing ways for customers to mitigate these risks across food retail, food service, cold storage, industrial refrigeration, and other applications.

SAMON has already launched the new GLACIÄR MIDI refrigerant gas detector this year, adding to its long-standing range of simply reliable gas detector solutions. GLACIÄR MIDI can be used to detect refrigerant leaks of HFCs, HFOs, CO2, NH3, R290, and A2L refrigerants. With just five different sensor types to cover all refrigerants, the IP67-rated GLACIÄR MIDI is simple to select. Configuration and maintenance are intuitively done via a dedicated mobile app or an onboard rotary switch. Connection to control systems is available via relays, analog output, or Modbus.

This fall, SAMON will be launching two additional new refrigerant gas detectors. These will serve the growing need for the detection of A2L and flammable refrigerants in heat pumps, display cases, and other self-contained refrigerating systems. Additionally, SAMON will be expanding its range to support ammonia detection in harsh refrigerated environments.
